Melrose teachers rally for education: “Fund Our Future”
On Thursday, May 16, hundreds of teachers, students, and others gathered at the State House in Boston and other locations in Massachusetts for the Fund Our Future rallies, advocating for revisions to the state’s public education funding formula. Several Melrose educators were among them. We asked a few questions of one, Anahí Pari-di-Monriva, a teacher in the Global Languages Department at Melrose High School.
What was it like being around so many teachers committed to fixing education funding?
It was inspiring to know that there are so many like-minded people. It was exciting to be around that kind of energy, even after a long day of teaching. It was empowering to be at the foot of our seat of government making our voices heard.
